Step Four: Professional Services

Professionals in the Housing Industry

All Real Estate Agents and Attorneys are not the same.

The last two modules in the pre-purchase training are the most important.  Choosing a Real Estate Agent is critical to your success in finding the right home for your family.  The agent should listen to learn your needs and wants in an effort to locate the property that fits those guidelines.  Steering you to areas or houses you don't want to live in is ethically wrong.  Remember the power as the customer always remains with you.  It is the power to say NO!

Your Attorney has a responsibility to ensure you understand all the documents in your closing package.  If you don't understand it don't sign it!  Good realestate attorneys will meet with you one on one and go over all your documents prior to closing and explain any and all issues that affect you now and in the future.  Remember, this is YOUR Attorney and he has an obligation to represent you.  Ask questions and expect answers that you understand.

Homeward Bound Certified Housing Counselors stay with you throughout the purchase process, then well into your first year of homeownership.  We assist as much or as little as you need.  We are just a telephone call away and remember, we are always serving YOUR  best interest in this process.  We look forward to working with you and will enjoy watching you turn the key and fulfill your dream of homeownership!
